See my other comment. Besides, it’s a general question. Why does everyone suddenly care about what, maybe 1% of the population is doing?
My anger is more in how fucking gullible we collectively appear to be, not necessarily at this guy in particular, but I’ve gotten so tired of these “just asking questions” types at my job etc. They waste your time and energy, maybe you get them to consider your point before being easily swept back into the other side of whether it’s ok to wear a dress if you’re a boy.
Good grief man, look at your own response to this seemingly obvious problem.
I certainly don’t. My best friend transitioned and you’re damn right I was with them all the way.
But what we shouldn’t do is make baseless claims and then fail to back it up with evidence. It convinces nobody. All the original poster is looking for is evidence. Any one of thousands of news articles or direct quotes would be enough.
At what point is it our collective responsibility to guide recalcitrant people to some fairly self-evident truths? It’s a real life denial of service, having to spend a lot of energy discussing and convincing someone of something reasonably trivial to find; we put a lot more energy out than they do in discussions, the whole while attempting to be compassionate, and that’s very exploitable.
To anyone out there: consider that trans/gay/straight and all other dimensions of human are still on team human. Let’s act like it.
They don’t need to. The real issue is suicide. People take away the things that allow their life to be bearable, and eventually it’s not bearable. Then people like you use plausible deniability like a shield.
The suicide attempt rate among transgender persons ranges from 32% to 50%
Every single Republican voter. Taking away the rights of trans people, discrimination against them and using them as a boogeyman for culture wars correlates directly with increased suicide rates of said people. Especially at a young age. There is blood on your hands if you’ve voted for Republican policies that do this.
And before any conservatives in the thread engage in whataboutism, ask for sources and express that you can’t be held accountable for the consequences of the policies you intentionally vote for… I’m not here to educate you so Google it for yourself and then kindly go fuck yourself.
If you vote for republicans you are voting for laws which are being passed every day that target trans people. Every single person who votes republican is responsible for that. You think you get to cherry pick what you take responsibility for?
If you vote for the people implementing these laws you are explicitly supporting them. So yes, every single person who voted Republican is in support of this.
I’m not saying “both sides”, I’m saying making blanket statements like this about “every republican” is why we have such a divide. I’m trying to be reasonable. Killing anyone is wrong idgaf what side you are on, but lumping any large category of people as “the enemy” is why we have so many fucking problems.
Cool I’m going to go vote for trump just to piss you off. That’s basically the attitude a lot of the people on the right have. I fucking hate trump but I see their point. Shit like this is exhausting, you aren’t being reasonable.
“fringe hate groups” are currently making it illegal to be trans to various degrees, and “fringe hate groups” are currently campaigning on doing the same at a national level.
Who is actually advocating for trans people to be killed?
The republicans. Especially those advocating for trans people to be lined up against a wall and shot.

Why would it have to be on their website to be true?

This is just one snippet of them quite explicitly stating what they want. I think it would be disingenuous to argue otherwise
Its a shame you get downvoted for asking questions. I (mostly) agree with the answers you are getting, but asking for a source should be a good thing
Sigh.
what is all this?? When did we start questioning people’s right to exist??
“Asking for a source” =/= “disagreeing with you”
Jesus dude calm the fuck down, the guy was not questioning anyone’s right to exist. He was just asking for a source. Fuck.
See my other comment. Besides, it’s a general question. Why does everyone suddenly care about what, maybe 1% of the population is doing?

So you’re just projecting. You’re angry at these other people and you’re taking it out on this dude.
You could just not respond. This doesn’t sound healthy.
You know what man, I’m just going to say I’m wrong and check out of this conversation. Hooray.
I certainly don’t. My best friend transitioned and you’re damn right I was with them all the way.

Have you ever heard of the term sealioning?

I’m not a republican, but takes like this is why I won’t claim being a Democrat either. “Every single republican” huh? Jfc

I’ve never voted republican, again, making blanket statements like this causes more divide
If you vote for the people implementing these laws you are explicitly supporting them. So yes, every single person who voted Republican is in support of this.
“both sides” is Republican propaganda, so in a way, you actually are a Republican.

Replies like above made me revert to centrism. I can’t stand it.

And he got big cheers for saying so.
Bigots and those who want to empower them. Are you really asking?
I have a friend who advocates it pretty much every day. The dude is so annoying and full of conspiracy theories its annoying as fuck
Why is this annoying person full of conspiracy theories who openly advocates for killing minorities your friend?
