    Slovenia and Croatia seem like nicer places than the USA nowadays … IDK about the other ex-Yugoslavia states, though.

      Can confirm, am Slovenian. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t repression (migrants, autistics (I only know, because I am one), probably other things I don’t know about). People resist change, which causes us to elect Janez Janša multiple times.

      Janša is a right wing “concentrationcamper”, who really enjoys shitting on migrants, the local press (he called the press retired prostitutes), etc. We have our own Foxnews like press (Nova24, Demokracija (hm, weird name), etc.). And of course, he loves Trump and will probably bring his nazi shit here.

        Yeah, I have no illusions about the trajectory of most european countries, but the USA are having a Machtergreifung right now while most countries in europe have a while to go before they go full fascism.

      Have been through Bosnia. The food is superb, the beer is cold and the people are friendly. Croatia got the best of the scenery in the break-up, though.
