Someone wanted it so badly they bought a partially eaten croissant!? Connoisseurs are a strange bunch I guess.
Even if someone tried it, you wouldn’t know that the rest of it is just as good. Maybe the other half is slightly burnt, too dry or still raw.
One person can only nominate the best croissant ever eaten individually.
