Avatar is a lemming in bed because this account wasn’t intended to be used except for creating communities… and then my instance announced it was closing.

Chris@feddit.uktoNo Stupid Questions@lemmy.ml•Have you or anyone you know ever been an hour late/early showing up somewhere the first morning of daylight savings time clock change?English
2·3 days agoYes, twice that I remember.
First was somebody turning up late on the Monday for work. Not sure how they got through the whole of Sunday without noticing, but this would have been around 2001, so before smartphones.
Second was again at work on the Monday. There was an Apple bug which broke the alarm or caused it not to change. I think that was due to the clocks changing but it’s possible it was just a general Apple screw up.

6·4 days agoGrey must mean they haven’t been invited? So probably just means Trump couldn’t name any African countries except Morocco and Egypt.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Earbud question: Does anyone actually like to silicone tipped earbuds over the solid plastic ones?English
6·8 days agoI only like the old style earphones that sit in the ear. Those bottom ones look way too bulky to be comfortable or not fall out, and the silicone tip ones - sod stuffing something like that in my ear.
I currently own the Sennheiser MX365 (looks like the MX375 is the updated and still available version) and they are great!
In the interests of Linux commands generally being short abbreviations, I suggest “pls”.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Newish to Fediverse - do I use one account across all services?English
1·10 days agoI don’t know if it uses that system, but NeoDB lets you sign in with a Mastodon account too. It’s also fully Mastodon compatible, so you can add it to a client and use it as a basic Mastodon/microblog account if you want. It uses (a modified version of?) Takahē on the backend, a project which sadly appears to have been abandoned.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Newish to Fediverse - do I use one account across all services?English
4·10 days agoIn addition, you can interact with other services from one account, but not necessarily use them fully.
So as above ^^^ at least one account per service is advisable.

Movies@lemmy.world•I'm interested in movies that disappear immediately...English
1·10 days agoI did read it. Everybody’s scared of Trump’s regime. I get it. Bit it wasn’t “disappeared”, merely kept under the radar. If it had been “disappeared” there’d be no trace of it and you wouldn’t be able to stream it.

1·11 days agoSo, no, then. Just not promoted heavily probably to avoid it “being disappeared”.

Movies@lemmy.world•I'm interested in movies that disappear immediately...English
5·12 days agoThere are a lot of films at the cinema which only seem to be on for a week at most. Blink and you’ll miss them. I don’t think anybody’s intentionally “disappearing” anything; they just aren’t considered a big enough draw to show for any longer.
Ah, sharing is where I was going wrong. I was putting the URL in the “search”, but it wasn’t letting me open it from there.
+1 for NetSurf, I wrote the Amiga GUI for that.

I put an edit in this about alt text but it isn’t showing up here now, maybe it has reverted to an older cached version?
Alt text mention was that new posts show alt text fine, but slightly older ones don’t - so wondering if the cache was losing the alt text.
