My cat is the most independent.
But she would text me “it’s been a full five minutes and you have not yet harvested the treasures from the box. Please remove them immediately “

3·6 days agoNo ferment pets rn. Bt sometimes they’re just as much work as my fur pets. I don’t have name rec, but I’ve always wanted to check out Mexican horror movies and it sounds like you have the perfect opportunity to watch some.

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•What are some of your inside jokes?
1·13 days agoWe always say butts instead of dollars. A box of pencils is six butts? Three butts for an apple? I got a real life cd. Fifteen butts.

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•So I was just thinking about the concept of internet shutdowns... I realize I kinda have an internet addiction problem...
2·19 days agoPhones do seem especially addictive. But there have always been distractions for parent. There was the cordless phone. And before that the corded phone. And soap operas. And magazines. Sometimes we just gotta choose to be present because life is so short and unpredictable

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•So I was just thinking about the concept of internet shutdowns... I realize I kinda have an internet addiction problem...
2·20 days agoIf you’re serious, I have lots of ideas. Everywhere I look, I always see something to clean. I like to get outside during all the seasons and observe what is happening. I print recipes I like and make notes to tune them to perfection. Get a ukelele and a how to play book for beginners. Or skip the book and just make up little ditties. Go for a walk, do yoga, or body weight exercises. Start a journal. Write down at least one thing that happened each day. Bonus, add weather observations. Get a radio from a thrift shop. Call someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Check out your local library’s current periodical section. Check your local town and county for events or classes that interest you. Find a creative reuse store and get some crafty supplies. Find a board game group. There’s soooo much to do!

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•Weekly thread - How is your week going?
1·20 days agoIt’s going. I have maybe a flu? It’s slowing me down. I am getting to stuff on my to-do list. But it’s a little slower than usual. I’ve been listening to an audiobook about what animals do in the winter. Its making me wanna bundle up and go for a hike but i should wait till I’m feeling better.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•was middle school mostly good or bad for you?
2·26 days agoI liked middle school. People were nice. Teachers cared. We managed to have some fun too. it was a break from the constant bullying at the school before. They had mean teachers too. High school was pretty bad for me. So, while middle school wasn’t everything I hoped it would be. It was better than both what came before and what came after.
90% of the time I get called back immediately. Makes me feel like maybe there was actually someone available. They just made me jump through hoops

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•What do you and your partner(s) talk about day to day?
1·1 month agoPoops. Farts. Butts. Who are all these people who just talk about division of labor
lol. Very much like that.
About 4x a year, my neighbor watches the barkiest dog. The dog also has a companion who is fine if alone. But barky when they are together. We survive by calling them “borkarinos”, making silly borks, and translating. “Bork Bork bork! I see a dog I see a dog I see a dog SQUIRREL “

Fitness@lemmy.world•How's everyone doing with their fitness goals?
2·1 month agoYear before was better. This year I’ve been dealing with tendinitis and tons of extra responsibilities. Things are changing still. I feel better when I make time move. I haven’t been doing flexibility and I feel so stiff lately. So I’m adding that in now. I need to get some heavier dumbbells for my home gym.
Best I can do is 512 bytes

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the best cheap crafts for men?
3·1 month agoThere is a recent-ish reprint of “The Manly Art of Knitting.” I imagine there are still copies out there. I’ve heard good things about the book and would take a look if I ever crossed pathed with it, despite no personal interest in cultivating manliness.
