IANAL, but it certainly seems like he may have a case for promissory estoppel.
Zagorath@aussie.zoneto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK You don't need Teflon pans for nonstickEnglish334·18 hours agoTeflon itself is perfectly safe. It’s far too large for your body to absorb.
But many of the byproducts involved in the production of teflon are much less safe.
In other words, if you already own a teflon pan, you’re fine. Keep using it. But if you’re considering buying a new pan, there are good reasons to avoid teflon.

Hourglass and Hollywood jumped out pretty quickly, and then neuroplastic. Then it took quite a while of searching to notice Kubrick, probably because my first reaction is to read that as ending with “rick”, rather than “brick”.
It seems to depend on who you ask. Teeth are not bones, absolutely, but I’ve seen sources that say they are part of the skeletal system, as well as sources that say they’re not.
The skeletal system definitely includes more than just bones, since ligaments and cartilage are definitely part of it. So where exactly the line is drawn is up to interpretation.
Zagorath@aussie.zoneto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Dwarf Fortress ASCII graphics only ruleEnglish3·22 hours agoWell, I didn’t want to correct that because frankly “design is a function of graphics” is arguably true. The biggest problem with that notation is the possible implication that it’s only a function of graphics, which is obviously wrong, but as an informal notation I see no reason to insist it must be interpreted that way.
Zagorath@aussie.zoneto Melbourne@aussie.zone•[Help me fight a scam] Google Moderators Refuse to Take Down Fraudulent Puffing Billy Locations on Google MapsEnglish14·21 hours agoOne other suggestion: let the real Puffing Billy know and suggest they make a trademark complaint.
I made a report to scamwatch as @dumblederp@aussie.zone suggested, via their “report a scam website” beta. Here’s the text I used, if anyone else wants to take the basic skeleton of it and tweak it for their own report:
Pretends to be the Puffing Billy Railway (real domain: https://puffingbilly.com.au/)
Uses fake AI imagery to advertise and pretend its association with the real railway
Advertises “our coupon price” prices above those offered on the official site ($72 for an adult return, official price is $64)
Advertises that the “normal price” is above their coupon price ($80)
Website owner has also created false entries on mapping & business directory software Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fxVNa5w4SbZ7V1Qi9, https://maps.app.goo.gl/YB7w8NzmbtMJbdmf7. These entries promote the fake business as if it were the real one, and link back to the scam website. One weird caveat…I don’t understand what the scam actually is here. I could not find anywhere on their website to actually do anything. No call to action. No link to order tickets. No contact details. Nothing. Just a list of their prices and two fake photos.
You’re wasting your own time every time you choose to reply (you could just…not, and we’d be done here) without apologising for your own rude attitude and acknowledging the honest mistake. I don’t care that you made a mistake. It happens. I’ve done it plenty of times. I’m perplexed about your attitude on everything surrounding the mistake. It’s bizarrely combative for something you yourself seem to be saying is not significant.
btw, it’s not a “longer version”, it’s just that even the theatrical versions of the films (the shortest ones regularly available, barring perhaps some sort of “cut for content” abridged copy like aeroplanes and such sometimes have) are over 9 hours long.
You’re free to move on any time you like, I just don’t understand why you are so insistent on remaining wrong.

Bro, it’s ok to just admit you were wrong. Admitting you made a mistake and correcting your worldview is a virtue, at least among serious people. You’re behaving like a far-right conservative right now, and over something so incredibly petty.
4e just used “squares” instead of 5 feet, but it, like 5e, used chebyshev distances.
Pathfinder 2e uses alternating diagonals though.
No, I think the only version you’ve seen is probably just the regular theatrical version. Which was also available, at least at one point, on DVD.
Zagorath@aussie.zoneto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Dwarf Fortress ASCII graphics only ruleEnglish5·1 day agoI’m afraid I don’t know what that means.
Huh. The screenshot worked again today. After it failed the last two days, I thought the site had been changed in some way that would require me to sit down and change how the screenshotting service works.
Zagorath@aussie.zoneto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Dwarf Fortress ASCII graphics only ruleEnglish5·1 day agoDesign = graphics.
Or maybe Design(graphics).
I would say design ⊃ graphics.
As far as I’m concerned, the verb to google is genericised. You can google on Google, or you can google on Kagi or whatever your preferred search engine is.
Regardless, I think you’re attempting to distract from your own rather poor behaviour and factual error. Why be like this?
One year after the theatrical cut of each Lord of the Rings movie, an extended version arrived. These editions add tons of new footage, increasing the Lord of the Rings extended editions’ length from the theatrical runtime of 9 hours and 3 minutes to 11 hours and 36 minutes.
It’s not even that hard to google. Why act so rude and so definitively about something you can so easily be proven wrong about?
The extended editions are almost 12 hours long. 9 hours is the theatrical cut.

Green was dumb today.
Spoilers
I spent a while with green split into two separate categories, one with beaker & syringe, one with ruler and protractor.
The “leader” red herring was fun. Wasn’t until I remembered macaroni and chinstrap are penguins that I pulled that apart.
