It doesn’t take much. There’s no reports, and nobody has done anything to break rules.
Everything that went wrong with reddit turned me into a passive user. I scroll, but I rarely vote or comment.
Besides, I burnt all the bridges during the protests and by refusing to play nice afterwards. I couldn’t go back if I wanted to, not without jumping through hoops to make a new account and keep it isolated. Fuck reddit, fuck spez. And, fuck r/edc too. I did my best, it wasn’t good enough, so that’s that.

I have found a bug though. Logging in to sh.itjust.works seems to cause crashes that other instances don’t (so far). Lemmy.world, ttrpg.network, and sopuli.xyz haven’t crashed at all so far. Haven’t tested any others yet since I want to take a bit to just enjoy the app.

Edit: found a very minor thing in the comment markdown menu. The >!spoiler!< markdown on lemmy is different than reddit uses. The >! Doesn’t work here.

Eh, if it were easier to block an instance as a user, I’d be 100% with you instead of 95%.
There are instances that are batshit crazy. Since blocking an instance as a user just ain’t possible yet, I can see why defederation before trouble gets going is useful. Once the nasty side of the internet gets snowballing, it’s much harder to manage.

Aha! That got it. Three colons. Spoiler, then the text for the spoiler listing, an enter, n closing `::: and then it works. It doesn’t work without the enter before the spolied text, which is just confusing and annoying imo. The >! Markdown is so much better.

Even doing it by hand is a large outlay to get going, if you want to do anything beyond nailing two boards together.
Ah, I see. Makes a kind of sense as to why there’s less nasty insults, but still insults. In that regard, maybe the name is a benefit. If people think civility is mandatory, they’ll think a bit more before slinging mud, or at least do so subtly.
