I think it’s fair to say we’re now well into the age of AI-generated misinformation. Hopefully people aren’t casting their vote based on internet photos.

Simply saying something is true is enough for Trump voters. They don’t need doctored evidence.

        You’re half correct.

        If it’s positive, it’s true.

If it’s negative, it’s fake news.

“Well into” as in no denying it. We are just seeing the start of its impact, though. I predict it’s gonna be a rough decade on that front.

Look at the eyes and fingers - if something strikes you as wrong, take a working of wrought iron and shove it through your screen with haste

I feel sorry for the kids. Having to grow up into this. I’m so sorry. Most of us at least had a childhood that was still rooted in actual reality, not this fucked up hyperreality. They were born into it.

Ya misinformation sucks, but half of the people are below average intelligence. We need further laws to prevent the spread. The lawsuit against Fox was a good start

We’re nearing the point where the fbi can show up at your door and arrest you for robbing fort Knox, and they’ll have videos and photos and AI generated witness testimonies.

This is probably their way of slowly inoculating us, soon they will perfect the fingers and other background details and AI will be indiscernable to the casual observer.

lol. Trump has flipper hands and that guy’s hat is total AI gibberish.

Lol also look at the fingers. One of what looks like should be his hand is clearly a woman’s hand, and another has a mini finger and oddly shaped one

You can tell they’re fake by looking at his hands.

The algos struggle with tiny hands.

Unfortunately, as ControlNet (https://rentry.org/dummycontrolnet) gets better, it’s going to get a whole lot harder to distinguish the fakes. It’s already pretty good, but a lot of people don’t use it regularly because it adds even more processing time to an already time consuming process. Faster hardware and better optimised code will cut that tiime down. The future is going to get messy.

Yeah one hand looks like a zoidberg claw but with a tiny dick for a pinky. The other has a massive coke nail. That one might be real.

Trump supporters combined with the notion of any form of intelligence, artificial or not, is a contradiction.

Ai generated images are always bad at fingers and complete gibberish when it text or words. Dead giveaway…

Non story. So some random people generated obviously fake pictures and put them online? That’s a lot less than the Trump campaign generating them, using them, and claiming they’re real, like the headline suggests. But congrats on platforming some literal-nobody conservative podcaster on a national news page. I’m sure this will finally convince Trump supporters otherwise.

    • I despise Trump and the GOP more than most ( I guess probably average for Lemmy) but this is right on. I wouldn’t be surprised is Gizmodo generated it just to make some click bait. Biden supporters are making negative AI bullshit too. This is just a load of crap with AI stamped on it. Avoid the hype.

Thanks for agreeing. Never forget that Trump’s original campaign (and the wave of alt-right shit that followed) was made entirely by every leftist news organization in the country trying to get their slice of the “YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT TRUMP SAID TODAY” outrage pie. This is no different. It’s literally the biggest spotlight this random MAGA podcaster has ever gotten. Literally no one on the right will be convinced to leave their cult off this article but they’re sure as hell giving a pretty big platform for someone who would otherwise just be another “who cares?”
