Is it a bad thing to industrially farm the permit crabs?
Each industrially farmed crab counts as a separate bad thing, so they only excuse the next crab.
There has to be some kind of loophole.

In Barbados I got to see the origin of permit crab. A massive crab was skulking around the customs desk and a worker poked it with a pen, which it then took and wielded as a weapon.
