That was exceptionally well written, as well as completely fucking depressing.

I am so tired of living in a world with instantaneous access to lifetimes worth of documentary evidence regarding the atrocities brought forth on humanity via organized religion, and then watching otherwise rational minded people continue replicating the same behaviors without remorse or consideration for the consequences.

Nothing improves a speakership like the stink of failure, I guess? Might as well bring him around for another go.

The attempt to reinstall McCarthy faces long odds. Two strong candidates are running active campaigns with only days to go before voting, and many dozens of Republicans have already made endorsements. There is little reason to think the basic math for McCarthy has changed for McCarthy since last Tuesday.

Too many people still don’t like Kevin. I’m resigned that it’s going to be Gym Jordan.

Gym Jordan? You mean the same Gym Jordan involved in the cover up of systematic sexual abuse in the Ohio State University system? That Gym Jordan?

Nothing fixes age old conflict between Muslims and Israelis like… checks notes… American House of Representative’s… speaker?.. that nobody wants?

If the result is more cooperation between parties, that sounds good to me. The entire thing that got him ousted was certain far right members saying “you can’t work with the Democrats at all, no matter what,” which is one of the most fucked up, dysfunctional things I’ve heard out of our government in a while

That sounds nice but the GOP has no interest in consensus based governance. Cooperating with them means acquiescing or losing

I’ve seen you comment this before and I’m really sick of it. Get Jews out of your mouth and mind your own business. Idk where your hard on for Jews came from but it’s really weird. Grow up.

Honestly, if he hadn’t smack talked them the day after they got that 45 day budget passed, they probably would back him. Hell, if we didn’t need to get the big budget passed in 45 days, they’d probably do it just to fuck with the Republicans. Or they could fuck with McCarthy by voting for him and making the GOP think he’s cut a secret deal with the Dems.
