minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up3arrow-down1·2 days agoWhat about a person who works in a meat processing plant? Killing hundreds of chickens a day. Are they a psychopath?
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 days ago What about a person who works in a meat processing plant? What about them? Killing hundreds of chickens a day. Yes, for food. Are they a psychopath? Why would they be a psychopath?
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1·2 days agoSorry, I think I got my wires crossed between your post and someone else’s. You were not claiming the person killing the seagull was a psychopath.
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·edit-22 days agoI called him a psycho, yes. He did kill for revenge, not for food. And in front of children. I don’t have any issues with killing for food and I love a good steak.Killing as pests eradication is also OK before you ask. This was neither though.
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1·2 days agoWhat are you using for pest categorization? Why are you okay with a seagull stealing your chip and not a rat?
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 days agoI am not ok with either. I wouldn’t kill either. Pest control works differently. You are trying to kill as many individuals in a very short time span to cripple the population growth. Even if seagulls were classed as pest, killing one has nothing to do with pest control.
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1·2 days agoSorry, I didn’t mean to imply you were ok with killing anything, bad wording on my part. When is killing a pest consider pest control and when is it not pest control?
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 days agoI answered exactly this question in my previous comment.

minus-squareYappyMonotheist@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up3arrow-down2·2 days agoBro, it’s not the same and you know it. Equating people and animals only means you have less empathy for people.
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up3arrow-down1·2 days agoI am not equating anything to anything. Smashing skulls because you have a “bad day” is objectively wrong.
