André told reporters after arriving in France, that as soon as someone would fall asleep, the agents would play loud music and dance. He also claimed that the detainees had a hard time accessing food and water.

    I do that to myself.

Yeah, the title is really misleading and sensational if that’s what the “abuse” consisted of.

Anyone being flippant about psychological torture knows absolutely nothing about psychological torture and their opinions about it can be discarded.

Jesus fucking christ just read some Wikipedia articles and be horrified that humans do shit like this to each other.

Sleep deprivation alone is no fucking joke.

The blindfolds that we see being used all the time on Palestinians are banned and considered torture under English law. No one mentions that.

I always assume those posters were physically abused and thus assume that psychological abuse in any form simply cannot compare. Ignoring the fact that their bruises healed fairly quickly while the psychological damage from that abuse is alive and well in their mind.

I agree, psychological torture is no joke. My point was that the original headline really led me to expect to read a story of sexual abuse, or other physical violence. It was actually a relief to read that it wasn’t, even if the sleep depravation is still awful.
