I have to stop and take a deep breath every time I see the “can’t put the genie back in the bottle” thought-terminating cliche.

    Okay, granted:

Someone foolishly released a chaotic force into the world which is doing irreversible damage and shows no intention of stopping.

What part of that makes you conclude “Well we better just do nothing”?

I don’t get this, do you want people to idle around so big tech can have a monopoly on AI tech or do you think people can protest technology away?

Can you explain what you’re seeing?

To me this comic is making fun of companies putting open source everywhere when it’s not, just to get clout boosts.

Where are you getting AI from?

The “genie won’t go back in the bottle” quote is usually said when referring to AI, and judging by OP’s vague comment I probably understood right.

Thanks. I hate it when people make memes with multiple meta levels. If you want to make a point against AI, don’t burry it under open source corporatism.

It’s funny that you confidently thought this was about AI the way I confidently thought this was about social media

Well we can’t have that. We should put together a map of data centers and pipe lines, and share it with people do we know what to protect.

Then suggest an alternative. We already have all the criticism we could possibly stand when it comes to protesting. What we don’t have is a single one of those critics suggesting or doing anything differently.

It is going to take some massive incident for people to distrust AI. The problem is that it is so damn convincing.
