I’m pretty sure that in the 1930’s, there were groups called “Juden für Hitler” (Jews for Hitler) or similar appellations in Germany.

If you voted for Trump then this is 100% what you specifically voted for. I’m tired of hearing this line, it’s bullshit. He was barking about literally everything he is doing the entire time, everyone else was pointing out that this is exactly what he was saying, if you genuinely didn’t think this is what he was all about the entire time then you are an idiot and the exact kind of tool they were asking you to be.

Fuck every single person who voted for this.

Yeah, not voting for any of the bad options is a lot worse than voting for the worst option.

I wouldn’t say worse, but equally idiotic. Not voting doesn’t absolve you from causing the result.

I think the random human-rights-violating deportations should be more equally spread out among demographics. Middle-eastern and Latina/o people are too targeted, which doesn’t seem fair. For instance, it should include more white people, and billionaires especially.

        Thats surprisingly common.

A while ago I was in a tram in Vienna. The tram has one very big station, where most people get off, and then just one more stop afterwards. We were just at that big station and everyone except me and an older woman stayed on the tram. As doors were closing, a younger woman outside the train shouted something in a language I didn’t understand.

The older woman turned to me and said in very broken German “These foreigners… They always misbehave, make noise.”

I was so close to asking her what about tge concept of foreigners she didn’t understand.

I don’t understand foreigners subscribing to anti-foreigner idology.

History would make it clear who he is and what his intentions were. At this point we are fighting sheer stupidity. It’s worth mentioning that pre-war Germany was exactly the same. How did that work out?

This is a perfect example of ignorance leading to being offended.

Latina specifically means those of the feminine persuasion. Latino would be the all encompassing term or the term for those of the masculine persuasion.

As someone mentioned, it’s because Latinas rather than Latinos. Some people have used Latinx or something similar to denote both, but I saw some backlash on that and am not sure if it’s preferee. Anyway, historically Latinos denotes either male or just general pop, kinda like mankind does in English.

Latinas on the other hand is specifically feminine, so it’s like “mothers against drunk driving” type organizations, specifically named to signify that it’s women. so they weren’t being sexist, just responding to the specificity in like manner.

Speaking as a Mexican in Mexico, the Latinx backlash was from Latino-Americans. We use it quite a bit here, especially in the LGBT community by people being trans inclusive.

The reason is that we don’t have the same historical hangups, and we also have a long history of trying to use gender neutral words and failing every time.

At one point in the 90s we were using Latin@ because of the web. Now the current gender neutral forms favored end in “e” as in Latine, but this has also been met with plenty of mockery and backlash.

So, please, use Latinx. It’s fine, you can even pronounce it Latinos or Latin-x if you want.

Obligatory “my author friend used x to form gender neutral words in his recently published book”:

        Oh yeah.

        Beautiful, isn’t it?

Mr. President, I think what we’re driving at is that you’ve taken congressional authority on trade and appropriations. You fired the heads of independent agencies. You’re challenging the courts right now, as you know. You’re using the levers of government to weaken private institutions like law firms and universities. Isn’t this seizing power away from institutions and concentrating them inside the presidency?

No, I think that what I’m doing is exactly what I’ve campaigned on.

        Some questions later:

Just remember, every single question you’re asking, I campaigned on it. I campaigned on all the things you’re talking about, all the things you’re asking about, and openly campaigned.

And he really did. He openly campaigned on it all, all the hate, vitriol and fascist points. He didn’t hide any of it. Sure he played dumb about project 2025, but he spread all the talking points.
