And now that computer technology is finally capable of approaching the look of hand-drawn animation, he was able to push the movie to look the way he envisioned it

Honestly, yeah he did. The animals looked very stylized, especially the fox. It was a beautiful movie and honestly an optimistic look at the fate of the planet.

From around 10-15 years you can do pretty every possible style imaginable in 3d. It’s just studios prefere not to risk. Spide-verse started new wave and we have few movies that going with bolder style but there is only few of those.

Thanks for the reminder about this movie. Saw the trailer a couple of months ago (probably when Beetlejuice 2 was running in theatres) and thought it looked pretty cool. Gonna check if it’s on streaming platforms yet.

I wasn’t a huge fan of it but I reckon if you have kids you’ll get a lot out of it. Seemed targeted at parents specifically.

Currently watching now and I see exactly what you mean. I’m not the target audience at all lol. But it’s fun, worth watching while I eat or whatever.

Still don’t know how this studio made this in all its glory and also is making a cocomelon movie.
The art is always an accident to the profiteering.
