Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to a statement from his office released Sunday afternoon.

    Good point. Biopsies can cause complications.

    PSA is still recommended here (it’s cheap) but only its negative answer is considered reliable.

    • PSA negative: all clear
    • PSA positive: do a non-invasive scan and more blood tests, don’t immediately proceed to a biopsy
