The roadmap has become very very long and filled with user requests. This release tries to reduce the list of user requests. The final goal is to reduce the list of user requests to a more manageable length. I will be prioritizing easy to implement and high impact changes to shorten the list of user requests faster.

Update
Going to be on a business trip for the next week. Might be slow to respond, etc. Also I’m still working through a backlog of messages to look through from the break from earlier.
Update 2
Fix a bad crash. Releasing as v1.60.1. This release also tests a new settings system under the hood. It’s only deployed for the theme settings for now to reduce risk. If no one reports any issues I will roll out this new system to all settings. Note: a successful rollout of the new settings system would mean no one would notice any differences between the old and new system.
- Fix a crash when viewing the post appearance settings for certain layouts.
Not on my watch! /j
I’d like that you consider these two points in the roadmap please:
-
Icon support, I like the icon, but it doesn’t always fit with certain themes I use, specially dark mode based themes, so basically I’d be asking for a dark summit icon in this case, but other kinds of icons are most than welcome for sure.

The app does a good job remembering the position when you are in a thread and the app gets closed (usual android app ram management) but it is certainly inferior when you are in the main feed (or whatever feed you would be the last time I guess), it kinda refreshes the main feed and when you are back you are never truly where you were the last time. As usual, I am not sure if I am being exactly clear, so just think it this way, you own a subpar device like a Xiaomi phone (yeah I am projecting myself lol) which is fairly known to have a not so good ram management, you are using Summit in the main feed and scroll a bit, then open another app and surprise, MIUI/HyperOS killed Summit in the background, when you are back the position where you were the last time is gone, that is where I see room for improvement.
I am not sure if you are back from your break, I’ll patiently wait for these suggestions though :)

Thanks for fantastic work!
Amazing work, thank you!
I hope you don’t mind, here are some suggestions from me:
Admin stuff
I’d love to have better admin tools. Specifically: Viewing votes, applications (with rejection templates too, like tesseract) and better reports.
The first two are self explanatory i think, but i’ll elaborate on better reports.
The comment that is reported is not highlighted at all, and the “Go to post” button does not work.
With the “From <user>” can we add a “Against <user>”? You aren’t obligated to implement any of this stuff, but it would be greatly appreciated (since i have to switch the lemmy UI every time i get on my phone, it’s quite annoying)
Thank you for this great app/update :D
Fancy seeing you here, and requesting things I am also interested in 🏴☠️
It’s a party!
If summit implemented the features we want, I think it would be safe to say that its the best client :D
I think it would be safe to say that its the best client :D
I think we were already at that stage, at least in the Android realm.
Thank you for the the update. Just want to report a bug - when I try to access post appearance settings, the app crashes
Rushing out a release to fix this.
Amazing, thank you!
Btw I just realized what your username means. Good one
