This might just be the toughest question of my life. Instinctively I wanted to say vanilla. But I genuinely cannot make a decision, this is very difficult.

If it was for society and which crop I could protect, I’d choose chocolate.

It depends. Do I trust the place?

Vanilla is pretty much always good. It’s hard to go wrong with vanilla. Chocolate is much more variable. A good chocolate is better than a good vanilla, but a bad chocolate is much worse.

that’s a good point - but to counter, there is always those cheap artificial vanilla alternatives that taste off, vanilla can be butchered too!

    Chocolate.

I’m sure the couple of baked goods I make that involve vanilla can use something else were it to cease existing. Almond extract would also be pretty good, I think.

Hmmm, this is actually harder than it seems

Like, I’m a chocolate fiend. It’s my one true vice left to me after stopping tobacco use.

But damn, vanilla is amazing. It’s such a delightful flavor in so many things that people forget how rare it used to be, how precious.

For me, I couldn’t give up chocolate for it, but damn I would miss it. Pretty much every baked good I really love has vanilla in it. But you can’t really just have vanilla by itself, as in the way you can a chocolate bar. It’s always in something rather than being the main thing. I mean you could just eat vanilla beans, but it wouldn’t be the same

vanilla is amazing; I guess it’s contextual for me. Vanilla ice cream or chocolate ice cream? I will choose vanilla hands down (preferably vanilla bean).

But if I had to snap fingers and either chocolate or vanilla disappears from the world? I dunno, I would have a breakdown - I don’t think I could do it.

Oh heck, back before bryers decided to screw things up, their natural vanilla was my default ice cream, even over stuff like hagen daz chocolate. I still prefer a good mistrial natural vanilla with the actual bean in it over any other ice cream, but I miss the heck out of the breyers.

I think I’d it was a finger snap thing, I’d break my thumbs instead.
