That’s what needs to happen. I’m mad as hell, I’m making my calls to my reps every day, and as soon as I finish moving into my new place I’m going to start going to my town meetings. I’m going to find out what positions I can run for and I’m going to try to be the elected official I wish I had now.

We could be the greatest country in the world if enough people actually gave a shit to do something to earn that title instead of just claiming it. Complaining and rallying and signing petitions hasn’t done shit, if you still believe that we can be the country we were told we were someday it’s time to put up or shut up.

Change isn’t going to start with the president, it’s going to start with your school board and the people in your municipal buildings.

Everyone (rightfully) shitting on the Democratic Party: this is where you put your money where your mouth is. This is how you get rid of the people you’re complaining about.

And we have a clear avenue to remove some of that corruption. There’s absolutely no reason not to take it. The only other path is literally burning it all down and starting over. And burning it all down is way more pain than people realize.

Matt Bennett, a vice president of the centrist Democratic group Third Way, discussed the candidate recruitment strategy of centrist Democrats and, as it stands, he said they’re focused on swing districts currently held by Republicans.

Salon catering to corpos. Third way are firmly right, right of center right. Use your votes wisely.

Progressives have an opportunity to capitalize on the anger towards the failure of the dems. Hope they run effective campaigns.

Eyup. I don’t vote for democrats that can win either. That to me is what really sends the overton window right. Its unacceptable to me to allow a republican to win an election at this point so the primaries to me are the time to get progressive.
