You go to lift up a chip and most of the stuff (toppings) is left on the tray.
Try to scoop anything up and you get so little that it’s more headache then it’s worth.
Not saying they shouldn’t exist, just I would never order them.

Only nachos I like are the skating rink/gas station nachos that are only the cheap salty chips and that wonderful hot queso cheese that isn’t really cheese.
Nachos with toppings like beans, rice, real cheese and olives are disgusting.
I kind of agree with this.
Done really gourmet and done well, they are amazing. Nasty ones with fake cheese and just too salty enough chips… somehow also amazing.
Its the middleground thats crap.
