I don’t know how much I trust this source [NewsNation]
FWIW, MBFC rates them high credibility, least biased, and “high” on factual reporting.
I’m surprisingly level-headed for being a walking knot of anxiety.
Ask me anything.
I also develop Tesseract UI for Lemmy/Sublinks

Looking at the bigger picture should have been enough, and they simply refused to do that.
I said it last summer that we were going to single-issue our way to authoritarianism, and yep, here we are.
Lazy, entitled, and just…not even living in the same reality it seems.
Like, instead of compromising ever so slightly to get 80% of what they want, they refuse to budge and get 0% of what they want. Worse, even, because now we’re losing what we already had.
Thanks for letting me vent lol.
How fucking entitled, and spoiled are you, that you let perfect be the enemy of good? Get out of your privileged bubble, and actually pull the fucking dog sled with everyone, instead of standing off to the side preaching about how you’d do it better.
My favorite excuse I’ve heard is “Well, Trump getting elected isn’t my fault. I didn’t vote, which means I didn’t vote for him”.
If the technology existed for me to punch someone via the internet, I would have used it. And I’m a pretty peaceful guy lol.
Yep. All or nothing, perfect or bust, nothing is ever fucking good enough. They’ll screech for that last 20% (fair enough) but when they realize they might only get 80%, they’ll sit on their ass on election day or vote 3rd party to “teach them a lesson”.
I agree with them on pretty much most things, but my god, they’re fucking insufferable.
Docker, .NET Core, and the combination thereof.
The most aggravating aspect of dealing with vendors at work is that they only seem to develop for WIndows. I’ll spare you my laundry list of gripes with two specific vendors, but suffice it to say, those gripes would not exist if they utilized Docker (they already use .NET Core) and didn’t target Windows specifically. Not to mention, my life would be infinitely easier and our Windows licensing budget much cheaper.
Hi, Joker, Dot, Tea, Mee, Ice, Cat, Bee, WOW , 000 et al. I recognize your style immediately. Looks like you deleted all your other most recent alts and trashed a bunch of conversations with them.
PSA: If anyone cares, this is the latest alt of a user that periodically (roughly every 2 months) nukes their account taking all posts, conversations, and interactions with them. So if you ever want to come back or reference something, and it was to something they’ve posted, too bad.
Report them to HR for creating a hostile work environment. They’re clearly showing disrespect for everyone.
An AI company using your data irresponsibly and without your consent?? I’m shocked!
While also going “woop woop woop” like Zoidberg.
At least for appimage, it doesn’t create application launchers. And it’s 50/50 whether the icon in the window list works or not.
I also build a lot of Docker images, and container formats throw a wrench in that if that’s the only way the application/utility is packaged. So I end up building from source.
I mean, yeah, I got that lol. My suggestion was to add vegeta’s “I did that” image next to the tariff price (like they display the badge for Prime price).
Just not a fan of container formats in general.
I say that as a heavy user of Docker, but that’s a different use-case.
If Amazon had any balls, they’d display the cost without tariffs, then the costs with tariffs and use your “I did that” image pointing to the tariffed price.
Hell, every retailer and business should do that.
Let the hate of the crowd wash over me, but I don’t even like Flatpak, and I’ve got love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with AppImage as well.
Just give me a system package or a zipped tarball.
In recent years, have had to just get used to needing to build most projects from source.
Gives me an idea for a pizza shop: All the pizza was made yesterday, and it’s served cold straight out of the fridge.
Not saying that cold pizza is better than fresh, hot pizza. Just good in a different way.
“I’m sorry, Mr. ICE person, but I don’t agree with your lifestyle choices and cannot serve you.”
That’s definitely weird. At least it seems like it’s just a UI glitch on that end and hasn’t empowered everyone who interacts with mod abilities lol.
Maybe check with the voyager community? Seems like a bug or something is out of sync. I’m not familiar enough with it to offer much more than that, unfortunately.
This one? https://lemmy.ca/c/timetravellerguide
I loaded it, and I’m only seeing you as a mod (no one else in the comments has the badge).
Are you using the default interface or another app? Maybe clear cache/cookies and see if that fixes it?
Shh. You’re getting in the way of their reactionary knee-jerk with your facts and “having read the article”.
