Summary

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina to introduce a measure banning transgender women from using women’s bathrooms in the U.S. Capitol.

The move comes just two weeks after Democrat Sarah McBride became the first openly transgender person elected to Congress.

Mace characterized the measure as an attempt to protect women’s rights, but Democrats criticized it as a distraction from pressing policy issues.

As a cis woman myself I hate and despise her. I sent my Congressman a message saying if certain members of Congress are overly concerned with what’s in the underwear of the person in the next stall, they could be given a single-unit bathroom of their own, labeled “Bigots.” The rest of the bathrooms in the Capitol building should all be gender neutral and all-stall/urinal-free, with sufficient privacy in the stall design so that people of all parties and genders could equally benefit from camaraderie and networking in the handwashing areas. Not to mention equal time waiting in line. That’s what a real feminist would be asking for in the first place. She’s just an asshole. Having the single Bigot Bathroom might also help save Democracy because of the GOP members waiting for their turn, missing votes.
