Real freedom is a truck that only gets 8 miles per gallon and spending $200 a week on gasoline filling it up /s

They are worried about it adding cost to the car? That’s hilarious. Just think of all the money you’ll save in gas over the course of ownership. It’ll be cheaper in the long run.

This has nothing to do with anything rather than the GOP just automatically putting something down that is for the good because it doesn’t make big oil money, and of course the left supports it.

It boggles my mind how we can see record heat waves right now, record wild fires poisoning our air, and more, and think that the right thing to do is push for later fuel standards.

You will be shocked to learn that the pushback against green energy is actually intensifying as the heat comes. A lot of consrrvstives are saying the heat waves aren’t even real.

Speaking as a resident in her district, Cathy is a sock puppet for her donors. She’s been well paid and will spout the script that her owners/lobbyists have provided for her. I’d be surprised if Cathy has personally filled up a gas tank in the last 10 years. She’s a reliable tool for the billionaires.

Fuck her, in the neck, with a spork.

I prefer a higher priced vehicle with better gas mileage so I save money over the long term while being slightly easier on the environment.

I suspect enough auto makers will benefit from this change - like Tesla, a.k.a. Uncle Elon’s Emissions Credit Factory Outlet - that it’ll dampen much of the criticism. (and consumers will benefit from all of the extra compliance car subsidies - $20k Bolts e.g.)
