Do they have tiki torches? Are they talking about replacing Arabs?

Because holy shit do these people not have any sense of self awareness.

People outside the US do not care about that. This is probably in response to Iranians chanting “Death to Israel”. The Middle East has a problem with chanting “death to” things. It’s pretty messed up over there.

You’d have a point except this march takes place every year and every year there’s an outbreak of violence around the temple mount. Also there are Israeli Arabs (born and raised in Israel ) who funnily enough are Israeli citizens and have fuck all to do with Iran.

Yeah because Arabs have never chanted “death to Israel” or Hamas had the first charter of their government as the destruction of Israel…

Wtf does Arabs living in Israel have to do with anything? Also there are very few Arabs with citizenship, almost all are 2nd class with limited to no to rights.

Note: being critical of the Arabs in no way excuses Israel’s current and ongoing Genocide of Palestinians…

You don’t think the idea that the Israeli nationalists are Marching around chanting death to an ethnic minority of their Nation is relevant or concerning? That seems extremely important to me. I think it’s extremely important to anyone who studied the rise of fascism in multiple democracies throughout the world.

Something being important, and something being relevant to the point being discussed can be different.

The point being discussed is that they are Marching around shouting death to this ethnic minority. That’s the topic we’re talking about. So yeah the thing that’s happening that this article is reporting on is relevant to the discussion on the article. That’s how this whole thing works.

Why are you so surprised if someone chanted that in response to these chants? People will obviously blame the oppressor in this situation. What’s so confusing?

That is extremely disingenuous, there is no “response” both sides have been chanting for each other’s death for fifty years plus.

The Iranians support Palestinians with weapons (not food though). Hamas is a proxy of Iran, and I believe the same religion. There are very few Persians in Palestine. It would make no sense to chant directly against Iran.

As with everything in the Middle East, it’s complicated.

Hamas is Sunni, Iran is Shiite. They’re aligned out of convenience more than religion. The Middle East isn’t actually that complicated, the idea that it is so complicated is peddled to scare people from actually understanding the region and forming their own conclusions, usually out of fear that the listener might not find a genocidal European colony to be “the good guys”.

Ah, then it makes sense that Iran provides no real support to the Palestinians. They’re a different religion, so the Iranian regime only has an interest in using them against Israel.

I mean there’s probably other reasons Iran can’t really help the Palestinians. More practical reasons having to do with logistics, economy, cost, geopolitics, potential consequences/sanctions, etc.

Okay tap the brakes. Let’s not let that pendulum swing too far the other way here. Iran doesn’t really help the Palestinians because they don’t actually care about the Palestinians. That’s very obvious to everyone I don’t think we have to pretend otherwise.
