Is the hypothesis that Windows being constantly broken forces you to learn how to fix it ? Because that’s kinda what happened to me 😆

I’ve been insulted by web developers for saying this before : “If your website doesn’t work on Firefox, your website doesn’t work”
I don’t understand why we don’t just all use UTC and just wake up at different hours depending on the country 🤷🏻♀️
Use codeberg.org !

We can have both trees and this ! Let’s replace the stupid ad spots on bus stops with these 😮
I don’t think anything’s wrong with trees, but maybe we could also have some of these as well as trees ?
Replace the advertisements on bus stops with a really cool green liquid wall 😮 (but they’d have to make the glass super thick, these things tend to be vandalized from time to time)

𝕿𝖊𝖗 𝕸𝖆𝖝𝖎𝖒𝖆@programming.devto No Lawns@slrpnk.net•'Meadowscaping': The people turning their lawns into wild meadowsEnglish1·2 days agoThat’s fair, but dogs don’t tend to care much about not walking through flower beds 😆 So, I would probably not get ticks myself, but they probably would.

No one had any interest in helping them.
I have much more compassion for Chris-Chan than for anyone who pointed and laughed. I agree with you, if someone was there to help, none of this would have happened.

It is pretty rare for my partners to date each other, so most breakups are usually “normal“. Even when they do, one breakup only concerns the two people involved, unless something really bad prompted it, which has never happened to me directly.

No joke, I genuinely considered switching to geology after I learnt there were only 3 people in that major and they spent most of their time on field trips collecting rocks…

𝕿𝖊𝖗 𝕸𝖆𝖝𝖎𝖒𝖆@programming.devto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•What If We Made Advertising Illegal?1·3 days agoI think local businesses should still be allowed some form of advertisement, and also especially local cultural establishments to advertise what shows are currently running. In limited, dedicated spaces.
Otherwise, I agree. No more ads.
But the upside is they’re very helpfully signposting themselves now !
I agree with the general sentiment, though KDE’s apps do have some real performance issues.
Dolphin sometimes takes 2-5 seconds to open on my gaming PC, whereas Nautilus (Gnome Files) is usually done before I’ve even let go of the click.
Maybe that’s just preloading, but it makes a bloody enormous difference in everyday usage.
I prefer Plasma overall, though.
