Seriously, of all the things to get upset about…
At least Proton (on paid plan anyway) doesn’t spam you with the promotions, unlike the competition you can tell them to fuck off after showing it once instead of “remind me later”.

Yes, actually.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for the 2,500 games on Steam to run on Linux as well,” said Mr Newell.
“Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space.”

That’s true, but unfortunately some of them were against it for all the usual incorrect reasons. :/

Yes, it is worth it to remember.
They naively expected publishers and developers to give a shit.
But after that failure they worked hard for years and contributed and donated to open source projects.
That allowed Linux to become a true competitor in gaming space with zero vendor lock-in.
Whatever their reasons were, the results are objectively positive for nearly everyone.
It probably will anyway.
Index and Steam Deck both sold like crazy on release, Valve has already proven itself with their hardware.

There’s really nothing new, it’s the same as it was on the Steam Deck.
If the devs are not assholes they can easily allow Proton, from what Valve said before often all it takes is literally one checkbox on their side.

Probably “never buying anything from a shitty company that does that”.
I already pay for commute.
If the company isn’t paying me for extra 10 minutes, they’re not getting free 10 minutes.
It shouldn’t be your problem if the next shift doesn’t show up on time.
When I used to work shifts you bet the employer paid for every extra minute I had to wait for the next guy - it’s the law.
Then shifts should have an overlap.
I know they don’t and won’t, but there’s no good reason not to do it, except that the company would make a bit less money.

It actually happens more than you’d expect.
Sometimes you even get fewer bugs on Proton.
One of the best examples was the release of FF7 Remake - it had really bad stutter on release on Windows… but not on Proton.
People even used DXVK (which is part of Proton) on Windows in an attempt to fix it.

What’s complicated?
Every charger says what max power it has, it’s pretty simple.
The only issue is that cables don’t have to be marked, but until 60W pretty much anything will work.

Countries? Don’t be ridiculous.
And any company that made itself so dependent on unproven bullshit kinda deserves it.

Except this one even started shit.
Call me oldschool, but I like my games available when I want them, not held hostage behind a subscription fee.

You see, that’s the fun thing.
Android will still technically allow sideloading, they’ll just make it difficult and scary for average user, and annoying for devs.

That sucks, because they’re one of the only ones supporting Wayland, and I don’t like using software from shady companies…

And most of these won’t make a difference for most people.
With the current promo the OLED is almost twice the price.
A little better screen and battery are nice, but performance is basically the same, it’s within an error margin most of the time.
And 90Hz screen doesn’t matter that much when 40FPS limit is preferable most of the time to keep the frametimes stable.

Such as (except the screen)?

Not really. You can sometimes see a minor boost in some games, but nothing worth the price difference.

Over OLED? Probably not, but LCD is perfectly fine.
Unless you really care about OLED and slightly better battery, then a much cheaper LCD is a good choice.
The reason is, I don’t wanna.
There isn’t any game I want to play bad enough to install malware on my device.
