I did eat fish a few years ago because it was an invasive species (and also, delicious).
But also, I have no problem getting the food/nutrients I need from a plant based diet, which isn’t always easy for other folks.

Like, meat offers sustenance, yes, but it’s by no means required. So basically, humans eat meat because it tastes really good — it’s great “culinary entertainment.”
This is a different kind of entertainment, but it’s deeply offensive to many folks. I’m not trying to be a dick about it, just curious why this is seen as such a sin.
Is it that these animals weren’t “supposed” to be killed? Would a movie about a beef cow who ends up getting slaughtered, both onscreen and IRL, be seen as better? Worse?

Talk to your manager.
Shortly after I was hired, my manager told me I should feel free to decline any meeting that didn’t seem useful, or that if it was preventing me from getting “real” work done.

Multiples of eleven are quick to enter, and with a simple nuker with no “minute” button, 66s is easier than 1:00.

Otherwise, the city council will kill your project. English12·13 天前On the one hand, that sucks, on the other…well, what really sucks is that it’s probably necessary given the state of public transit and bikeability. (Haven’t been to Nashville, so I can’t comment on public transportation there.)

I don’t think that’s correct, for example, San Francisco:
On December 11, 2018, the Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance (the “Ordinance”) eliminating required parking minimums citywide for all uses.

This does exist in major US cities, especially the older (by US standards) ones. I’m in San Francisco, in a “good” neighborhood, and restaurants, groceries, bars, and multiple forms of public transit are all a short walk away. This is very different in car centric suburbs/cities though.
Have you encountered modern shifters? They’re fairly involved.
Electronic shifting, hydraulic brakes, liberal use of sealed cartridge bearings, carbon fiber parts requiring strict torque specs…these are definitely different than 70’s friction shift ten-speed bikes.
Or, they’re about to collect their paycheck from the photoshoot they just participated in.
That’s basically the best possible outcome.
Toddlers are the reason why, despite being able to afford nice furniture for the first time in our life, we’re sticking with ratty couches and old Ikea coffee tables.
My idea of “perfect philanthropy” is something like the Carnegie Hall. While I think it is the government’s role to provide places for art, I don’t begrudge a city for having a more modest venue. So having a world class, tour de force concert hall is a pretty neat philanthropic project IMHO.
