She’s a long sandwich???
“-… and I’ll wag my tail and go woof :3”
In some sense, Powerwolf. The only concert I ever went to, I was really surprised to learn that apparently I hate concerts and will never go to one again.
python@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you got accidentally duplicated, do you think your copy would try and kill you?12·2 months agoNono, it feeds me comfortably, I’m just really into saving up since I want to own an apartment one day and I’d definitely be annoyed at having to feed an extra person with no prior notice.
python@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you got accidentally duplicated, do you think your copy would try and kill you?29·2 months agoWe’d get along fine, but feeding two people on one salary will definitely be annoying (my job has a non-competition clause where I can’t pick up a second job in the same field), and getting enough adhd meds for the both of us will be impossible due to strict regulations here.
One of us still could bring value to the household by being the designated bangmaid though
Oh hey we’re in the exact same boat! My parents are from Russia too and moved to Germany about 20 years ago. If the bureaucracy here wasn’t that slow, they would have had citizenship by now and 100% both voted AfD.
We never had a decent relationship and I’m not concerned about preserving anything, so the goal is to just fully cut all contact at some point 🤷
Until then, I just act ignorant whenever they bring up politics (like literally pretending to not know who Trump is, because “what, why would I pay attention to niche american politics, they’re literally an ocean away??”).
Works pretty well, sometimes it even does make them retrospect about why they would care so much about seemingly random topics (because Russian propaganda channels train them to react to specific buzzwords).
Ultimately, I don’t think they would ever change into better people and any energy put into changing their minds would be better used somewhere else.
Yup, it’s best to avoid Californian Almonds. Luckily there are brands like Alpro who commit to sourcing their Almonds from Spain and Italy instead

I’ve recently caught up on About Oliver’s second season of Minecraft streams. He’s an astrophysicist who never played Minecraft before 2022 and documented his entire blind playthrough. No reading chat, no googling etc. He only knew that he could get to credits somehow, but didn’t even know how.
I highly recommend the entire playthrough, but there is a 6 hour Compilation of season 1 if you want to catch up to current day. Season 2 is about 40 episodes in, with about 4-5h per episode.
python@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Designed by men, for men: Why sex with robots does not have appeal among womenEnglish7221·3 months agoColloquially, the word “robot” always implies a certain amount of anthropomorphism. So no, I don’t think a vibrator would count, as basically no vibrators on the market try to look human-like.
But that definitely is a weird difference between male and female sexuality - the sex toys women buy most are the very effective and utilitarian ones: Vibrator wands, Rabbits, Air pulse Vibrators etc.
While the most popular tools for men tend to focus on “realism”(?): Fleshlights, Sex Dolls, things like VR and POV porn. And I guess sex robots would fall into that category too in the future.
I can absolutely see the weirdness-factor of someone who is desperately trying to emulate a partner rather than just accept masturbation as a solo activity and optimize it from there 😬
python@lemmy.worldto Europe@feddit.org•German trains are less punctual than Britain’s ‘broken’ railwaysEnglish53·3 months agoAbout 72 per cent of Deutsche Bahn’s intercity trains arrived within 10 minutes of their scheduled arrival time in the year to January 2025,[…]
Fun fact! I’m not sure if it was done here, but almost any time DB calculates a statistic like that, they don’t count the trains that didn’t arrive at all as unpunctual. So if a train is completely cancelled, it’s technically “on time” because the predicted time is “never”
The forgotten coffee problem was my main reason for switching to oatmilk. If it stands around uncooled with cow milk for too long it grosses me out, but oatmilk isn’t as volatile so I don’t mind drinking yesterday’s coffee.
It got a lot better when I got on adhd medication, even though the medication doesn’t do much else for me yet.
I think a certain reframing of depression has helped me too: It doesn’t just make you sad and tired, it also makes you cynical and very critical of any ideas that might actually help you out of it. So I went to people I mostly trust, asked them how to get out of the depressive slump, and just did whatever they suggested instead of following the urge to talk down their ideas and reason out why they won’t work for me. And honestly, it probably didn’t even matter what exactly their suggestions were, because just doing anything is enough to get some positive change started.
python@lemmy.worldto Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Hobbies Wednesday - what have you done this week?English3·3 months agoI crammed out my old VR headset! Apparently I bought a Quest 1 in like 2019/2020 but never touched it again after Cave Digger VR gave me horrible motion sickness once.
Got Minecraft set up on it and now I’m slowly playing through a world! Weirdly, Motion sickness is not an issue at all now, even with all the movement options set to full speed. I can even drive a boat on ice, and that makes me nauseous in normal-screen Minecraft sometimes lol

python@lemmy.worldto ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•And now I just have to stop drawing.English2·3 months agoI almost missed picking up my meds yesterday because I was playing Minecraft VR … took like 2 hours between realizing I need to go pick them up and tearing off the headset and only half-turning everything off, because I got caught in wanting to turn the game off in a state where I’d remember what I was working on, so I had to return home, and then I had to fix a machine I was tinkering with, and then my crops were ready so I had to pick them, and then a trader wandered in and I wanted something before he disappeard so I had to scrape up money…
I’m vegan* and I’d do it for 1000€, if that money came out of the pocket of a meat producer. Just numbers-wise, that would probably already be a net-benefit, and I don’t really regard my own conscience highly enough to make it sway that price all that much.
Cranial dislocation and instantaneous crushing of the head are some of the most pain-free deaths too, much better than the CO² gassing which would be the default for a bunny this size.
What always fascinates me about dilemmas like this is the cuteness of the animal is such a big factor for people. Would the average answer be the same if it was rat, a fish, a chick or a tiny baby kangaroo? I think it’s a nice mental exercise to think about it! My school had a Philosophy class for all the students who didn’t go to Religion class, and we basically just solved dilemmas like this all day. It was really beneficial for building your own moral framework and getting comfortable in navigating it.
(* with the relevant exception that I have a snake, so my freezer is full of dead rodents that I’m thoroughly desensitized to)
