Indeed. I have seen lo______ol around for a while now. We need to name and shame Reddit mods. And move more people to Lemmy. Unfortunately, the Reddit boycott didn’t go well because normies have a sick compulsion to pardon any and all acts by corporate. Normies are the biggest digital masochists sans exception
Sorry, I take that back. I have edited the previous comment; I do not remember if it was Floorp or Waterfox or something else that I had heard complaints about. I think Floorp is fine. I prefer LibreWolf and Mullvad browser for the clearnet but my choices shouldn’t dictate what you should use.
Sorry, I take that back. I don’t remember which one out of Floorp or Waterfox I had heard complaints about. I think it should be fine. I still prefer Librewold and Mullvad browser because they follow the TOR browser’s hardening steps.
The previous commenter mentioned mxroute and I got sendgrid from your comment. I will look at these products, is there any other provider that you recommend?
Just use LibreWolf. Why is Floorp even recommended anymore? Last time I heard it was a privacy nightmare
I take this back. I cannot find any proof for this statement apart from some reddit comments bashing it. I do not remember if it was floorp, zen or waterfox that I heard a lot of complaints about regarding privacy so I’ll give Floorp the benefit of the doubt.
Amazing comment. Saved. Thank you so much.
Indeed, I have thought about hosting my own email, but the problem of dealing with IP blacklists made it seem not worth it.
Thank you so much for the explanation on DKIM and SPF. It makes sense to me now, indeed I didn’t really have a clue about either of these before I read your comment. Thank you for breaking it down.
Use Hyper-V on Windows and the CLI on linux
I hope they know that RISC-V exists…
We need to have a community wiki with TVs where the WiFi chip can be reliably desoldered
The only 2 words that go into my search bar are xnxx and xhamster.
I managed to install LibreWolf + uBlock on my work computer. I haven’t fucked around with custom filters on that setup but power user mode is on and most 3rd party stuff is blocked. And JS is disabled by default.
It’s actually quite refreshing: pages load superfast and because most of my internet searching is technical documentation/blogs/stack overflow, not having JS running doesn’t bother me 90% of the time.
I have an alternative for you if your power bills are cheap: X99 motherboard + CPU combos from China
In general how much VRAM do I need for 14B and 24B models?
I didn’t know that. I thought just one ROCM binary to install, run Ollama and that’s it. Thanks for the explanation
How do you back up your media?
Do you have any recommendations for running the Mistral small model? I’m very interested in it alongside CodeLlama, OogaBooga and others
Wait how does that work? How is 24GB enough for a 38B model?
The 7900XTX was $1000 when it launched, I wouldn’t mind it used either.
I want to ask the same question I ask every time this comes up: how will they “ban” encryption?
Sure, they can ban the signal/session/simplex app from the app stores in the continent. Doesn’t prevent you from just downloading the APK/using any FOSS store like F-Droid and accrescent though.
The only problem I can see is that people are idiots and will go along with this, and then share confidential information with you, who is trying to maintain good digital privacy and hygiene, and by extension shine a spotlight on your behaviour to alert the local police force that you’re trying to have a private digital life. I try to be strict with my family about these things but both the older and young folk don’t care at all.
