People underestimate the degree of deconditioning that happens after just a few weeks of immobilization and hospitalization. Looking forward to more great music from him.
But also… Tumblr?

I donated to the International Medical Corps because a Libyan friend of mine has worked with them in the past and vouches for them.
bluu@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Treating Parkinson's with electronic signal to brainEnglish16·2 years agoNot knocking the technology at all, it really can be life-changing for people with Parkinson’s disease. But it’s been around for a while, it was approved in the US by the FDA in the late 90s. A chip is not implanted, but rather electrodes in the brain that connect to the controller elsewhere.

bluu@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•This doctor said vaccines magnetize people. Ohio suspended her medical license.141·2 years agoDoctors of osteopathic medicine (DO) are legitimate doctors (at least from my experience in the US healthcare system). They function identically to doctors of allopathic medicine (MD) with the rare addition of osteopathic manipulation. But their standards of training and credentialing are essentially the same. You’ll find crackpot DOs and MDs if you look for them.

I think I’m most impressed by the clean cut cross sections you got
bluu@lemmy.worldOPto Mechanical Keyboards@lemmy.ml•Please send help. I'm falling down the rabbit holeEnglish3·2 years agoYeah the big draw of custom keyboards for me was trying different switches, so hot swap was a must. I already have more switches than I need. If I could do it over again, I would have first invested in a switch tester
bluu@lemmy.worldOPto Mechanical Keyboards@lemmy.ml•Please send help. I'm falling down the rabbit holeEnglish3·2 years agoI have no plans to buy any more boards anytime soon. I’m not a huge fan of the taller keycap profile of the Keychron, but I’ll give it some time before considering different keycaps

bluu@lemmy.worldOPto Mechanical Keyboards@lemmy.ml•Please send help. I'm falling down the rabbit holeEnglish4·2 years agoStill deciding. I’m relatively new to the hobby so still getting a feel for different switches. I’ve only recently become a fan of linears after discovering heavy linears, and now going back to tactiles feels so crunchy. The bananas have a very light bump at the top, so once you pop through that, they just feel like smooth linears. The bump for me basically serves to prevent accidental key presses when resting my fingers on the keys.
bluu@lemmy.worldOPto Mechanical Keyboards@lemmy.ml•Please send help. I'm falling down the rabbit holeEnglish0·2 years agoI’m sure it’ll happen eventually, but at the moment I don’t see the big advantage to anything smaller than a 75%. It makes sense to reduce the length of a board to make more mouse space, but reducing the height (or depth I guess?) doesn’t seem as important and removes some functionality. Sure, it looks nice and compact, but form follows function
I’ve gone through a lot of travel mugs, but I also have been most impressed with Zojirushi to the point that it’s the only one I’ve used for the last 10 years and also recommend to everyone
