I never got hooked on to more “simulation” NFS games like ProStreet and Shift series except NFS Porsche 2000 which was amazing and I wish EA would just fix the damn thing to run and look nice on modern systems if they can’t make remaster due to licensing. But I have no hopes and no one managed to hack it as fan made patch to this date…

I too have obsession with NFS series, because the concept with cops is just so cool and adds that extra variable in the racing so that each race is different and not just sterile holding the best line which is just so dull and boring.

There were very few other racing games that would draw me in so much as NFS. I can only count few of them through literal decades. Lotus 3, Test Drive 3, Stunts 4D, Screamer 2, Re-Volt, Split/Second and Mercedes World Racing. Test Drive Unlimited was also pretty interesting,but I only used it to just drive around through Hawaii.

HERE WeGo still has Gulf of Mexico, at least for non US folks. Can anyone from US of A confirm it’s the same for you?

I mostly play online very old games that are hard to run on modern Windows as is and online ones that fon’t like Linux because of anti cheat.

This dumb shit made me go Linux. And I love it so much I’d go Linux for my gaming system if it weren’t so fucking dependant on Windows for gaming. And no, I don’t want to fiddle with Proton layer and deal with bullshit, I just want to play games. But for everything else, I love Linux. Even fell in love with GNOME even though I hated it in the past and was the KDE guy.

The laptop that Windows deems too old running Ryzen 2500U with 8GB RAM and Crucial M.2 SSD does everything in a snap. It’s still a damn 4 core 8 threads CPU. For multimedia and browsing it’s an overkill, but killed off because bullshit corporate reasons. Fuck you Microsoft.

HERE WeGo is really good, I’ve been using it for years. Has offline mode too so you only rely on GPS and downloaded maps, but has online mode too for realtime traffic info. Can’t comment on this part since I don’t use it.

I’ve learned through years it’s best to just wipe entire OS partition (it’s smart to have a dedicated one with user files on separate one, you can even quickly relocate Documents folders) and just reinstall clean. It’s usually faster and more reliable than troubleshooting for hours with no guaranteed fix.
