I haven’t got a chance to play either yet but I hope the rumors of Soul Reaver Remastered are true. I would love to try it out
You should give it a chance if you have any time during this amazing year of releases lol.
Its on PS+ Extra and holds up really well. I believe they kept all of the original voice acting so its mainly a gameplay and graphics update.
The original blocky PS1 version is also playable in the remaster if you complete all 19 Souls Challenges.
I’ll start with a (slightly) controversial pick in the PlayStation community.
MediEvil Resurrection.
When I was a kid, I was surprised with a PSP for my birthday. I had wanted one to play the new ratchet and clank that was announced at the time. Little did I know that the game my parents bundled in for me would go on to be one of my favorites on the system. I had never heard of the series before so I didnt have any complaints about Resurrection like old time fans did.
After playing and loving the Original’s Remaster on PS4 im excited to see if Resurrection holds up now that its playable on PS4/5.
Coming to PS+ Extra and Premium at launch too!
For Ps2 you easily need to try out the Holy Trinity of platformers
Ratchet & Clank 1-4
Jak and Daxter 1-X
Sly Cooper 1-3
All great for different reasons and surprisingly good stories for platformers with Sly being the deepest.
Thanks CSD! Im glad gaming is still a bright light. 3/Blood Dragon is still my favorite but im really liking 5. I think it passed out 4 aready and I havent even finished it yet lol.
Have you played any of New Dawn? It looks like an interesting concept.
Im in a weird funk right now and its spread into my gaming.
I completed the main story of Control but am taking a quick break before doing the dlc.
Saw Far Cry 5 is being removed from ps+ extra so i’ve jumped into that for some mindless action. Mostly skipping all the side dialogue but the main story is pretty interesting. Not too many games deal with religion so im always interested in how each one handles it.
At the moment i’m on track to get an easy plat, at least as long as I can find a coop partner for a few trophies.
Paprika 3 Recipe Manager
Its a one time fee per platform ($5 for ios, ~$20 for macos, $5 for android, and ~$20 for windows) that shares recipes across platforms you’re signed into.
It also downloads and formats recipes from websites so you dont need to copy and paste and reformats if you’re sharing it with somebody who doesn’t have the app.
When it comes to recipe apps i’ve found very few that are pay once or truly free. Most are free trials with limited recipe spots available.
$10 on PSN
Includes original expansions and a new one
Quake 64 included
Crossplay
Personally I’m most interested in replaying Ape Escape on the Loose. That was my intro back in the day, its going to be fun seeing a psp game stretched out to 4k.
Know of any good ones? I have one but it kept crashing and when it didnt it had a 4 second delay.
Looking forward to revisiting at a reduced price but still cant help but feel a bit letdown with this just being a port. With RDR2 having so much of the RDR1 map built in it and having it already be 5 years since that launched I was hoping/expecting for a remake or even a remaster of it in the RDR2 engine.
Still, if you’ve never played the game before and have any interest this is a must play.
Great minds! Lol.
And I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been in a weird mood to play a train game but couldn’t find anything that grabbed me. This looks like it just might do the trick. Im excited to have a reason to get back into Dreams!
It also shows the potential Dreams had/has not just with the creation but also distribution. If they put a new game like this (media molecule seal of approval) on Dreams even just once a month I could see it keeping a dedicated group of players around.
I would have been cool to see a world where we have a monthly lineup for PS+ Essentials, PS+ Extra/Premium, and Dreams Curated.
Thats a great idea! That’ll give me time to dust off Dreams and re-familiarize myself with some of the creations.
Hoping this comes with Crossplay
No problem! I’ve used it to save a bunch of creations over the years but I still need to get around to playing them
For anybody wanting to get an early start check out the Dreams website to add creations to your play later list.
Excellent choice!
I’ve enjoyed the whole series up to this point but the original is my favorite. Such a unique setting with a creepy atmosphere and fun gameplay. Cant wait to see what Ken and his team have for us next!
