That cheat sheet is weirdly coherent. Human, almost. Weird.
Fan of breaking echo chambers by being devils advocate. Other than that, centrist. As in in USA I’d be considered left.

The won’t kill Windows until there is some alternative for consuments and no, Linux ain’t it…mostly because there is still a big faith in common folk that Linux is some arcane tech. Which is pretty much proven in their opion when they try to use it, cause they try to use it like Windows.
And no, Lemmings don’t count, most of us have some kind of dev experience, be it professional or hobbyist.
Eh, Trump’s stupid enough to openly oppose peaceful protest. And Americans seem to have a reaaaally short fuse when someone physically spits them in the face.
Soon, they won’t be so peaceful.
This rule is ancient. I never seen such signs in my life - read about them in history books tho
Not who you asked but I live in Poland and our self-checkouts are pretty flawless in my opinion. Simple combination of scale, bardcode scanner and touch screen and voila. Most shops that have them, have at least four of them. Supermarkets often have 6-8 and dedicated employee to oversee them, sometimes with their own touch screen and ability to bypass age checks or weight problems from their stand without moving to you.
They only scream if you scan something age-restricted or if weight doesn’t match. The second problem was much bigger in beginning, nowadays it’s actually rare.
Edit: Oh, and we do have that scan-the-receipt to leave. Again, early on they were…less than flawless, but today they work ok. Heck, one supermarket got it installed only a year ago and damn that scanner is snappy af. Sometimes scans code before I manage to fully position it xD
Arx Fatalis.
Saved every potion I could for the whole game. Then, when I was going for the boss, I’ve taken them with me. I was playing a mage…and I cheesed it by constantly casting non-magic area.
I had almost unlimited potions. And boss was relatively weak without magic. I was playing a mage, but had some skills in criticals… it was fun xD Basically two wimpy morons in a slugfest, but I had a whole warehouse of potions on me xD
For me the distinction helped allievate alienation. But that shit should really be applied per case >_< And if it would be dropped altogether, I guess I wouldn’t need it as a kid either.
…also dunno. Like, are they telling people to commit? That’s what it sounds like. If you dare try to fight for your country, we will try to murdrr you - so you need to be ready to actually fight because there’s nowgere to run.
Do they know what animals do when pushed into a corner?
Not giving them enough attention.
Here I am. Didn’t want animal because I struggle mentally a lot and I know I don’t have vapacity to keep them occupied. Partner finally understood and backed off just for her mom to put us in situayion where either we takr her cat or it ends in shelter. Cat my partner spent a lot of her life with. >_<
Did not know about the API. This clears a lot, thanks.
And about closed garden being wanted - if evrything goes through the people who made the thing, then these things are guaranteed to work on the thing. No wondering, no thinking, it just works. And such closed and tight thing was something I heard from people boasting iphones as best thing.
But part of the reason Apple is dominant is their closed garden approach - that is literally part of their product. I cannot understand how that’s a bad thing. For me it’s akin to a flute manufacturer producing flutes and everything is okay until they get popular. Suddenly they are hated because they don’t produce flutes incorporating parts from different manufacturers? Even if they produce them to allow exchanging the parts?
Same for Microsoft and their Internet Explorer case. I didn’t understand back then I don’t understand now why they lost lawsuit if they didn’t, IIRC, block you from installing anything else.
It would be different matter for me if it was for example Windows explictly blocking you from downloading another browser than Internet Explorer. That’s abuse. But just having a default made by the same company being bad?
But you are not enforced to use Windows or Android. Closed ecosystem is part of the product in this case. Nobody stops anyone else from creating, for example, Linux. So how is it anti-competetive?
Okay. One question.
Why would company A need to accomodate any other “app store” in their product, especially if one of their product’s selling point is how streamlined it is? I am not even talking about apple but in general, alas even in their case - they made it clear how it works. People accepted it and bought their product. It doesn’t hurt anyone, and they are not the only player either. So why attack them now? On what basis?
Or like, you know, focus for a second and read the message instead of seeing text and responding only to first sentence, if not just the title xD
More like, 10 worked, was fast, was a nornal OS. 8 sucks ass, 11 is adware, 7 was fun, vista was bloatware, xp was woking.
I used both 95 and 98 but as a kid and don’t remember much.
And I’m not even 40!
Not much experience, but quickly learned .bind() in JS after it switched me to window instead of object.
Point is, if you’re gonna flush your nose, boil the water at least. FFS.
You just discouraged me from linux lol. Steam using 2GB RAM in the background? Am I understanding this correctly?Because on Win 10 it uses ~350 MB, even with open window.
I don’t. XP was great, Vista sucked, 7 was great, 8 sucked, 10 was okay and 11 sucks.
But honestly where I live tech magazines try to push Linux every now and often. Which, paradoxically, alienates people from it further connecting it to “computer people”.
