True for any pet…I lost count of how many kittens are impossible to save because they grew as strays. So many of them. I try to do something and I feel like sh1t after seeing how many of those attempts failed, it’s depressing and i am a tad too sensitive for this. Neuter your pet please, I don’t want to see any more neglected pets…

It became useless partly due to the overmarketing and the reliance on ads, of annoyingly useless websites using SEO to stay ahead of legitimate resources (happened so many times now it’s terrible), but also for the aformentioned reason: everyone published on their social media (walled gardens) so they don’t appear on search engines. Particularly evident with dicord and facebook groups taking over forum. Well, they won’t ever appear on a search engine. Reddit is an exception, but nowdays it’s completely app-centric, the web ui is terrible (the app is even worse if you dare using it).

There’s as many gb emulators as possible, for a while i used nostalgia emulator (great ui and functional save state feature) but you can also run retroarch and other multiemulators. The one thing you need is the rom, but that is another story.

You’re right on this…that was to say that minimalism never disappeared. I mean, as the technology evolved we adopted complex and detailed graphics. Of course, that was what they could do with what they had. Still, some atari games were complex, if not cryptic, some would be now full arg. Like that swordquest series, with modern technology that would have been a huge arg.

I think it’s still true, after all the success of minimalist games (like vvvvv) and similar concepts is a tangible proof of that. Than, if we go back to the past, both atari and nintendo games used the in-game gaphics on the cover art. I remember getting into games cover art after that avgn cover art christmas episodes…side note: they’re still fun, give it a watch of you want.

I don’t like slamming doors but sometimes things happen and you can’t help. I want to be understanding and civil, but a while ago they insisted that i’d have to watch a 7 minutes videos for proselitism, while i was cleaning stuff outside and moving some large pot. As if it wasn’t obvious i was working on something, but i still had to explain them that i was in fact working on something and i couldn’t listen to them. Idk what to say, but if you’re in the mood you can slam your door, that is absolutely possible

You can add a basic “-sitename” to avoid useless websites, for example you can format your query lile this: “search query -quora -pinterest -buzzfeed”

I’ve actually gone back to the old way, find a realiable site or publication and then add my links to the browser, very old school but still absoultely relevant. Also, since llm are a thing, i use the for extra searches with things like perplexity ai. I also appreciate chronological feeds, so that i am the one to pick and choose what to see and not some automated system that i don’t truly trust. With some exceptions, clearly.
