True. But the only reason people are paying this much attention to this case is because the GOP is trying to politicize stuff that shouldn’t have been political.

Attorneys representing Hunter Biden asked a US judge in Los Angeles to dismiss the criminal case accusing him of evading $1.4m in taxes, arguing that prosecutors bowed to political pressure from Republican lawmakers investigating his father, Joe Biden.

Hunter’s lawyers appeared before the US district judge Mark Scarsi in federal court in Los Angeles on Wednesday to press several legal challenges to the charges, including an argument that he was selectively targeted by prosecutors in response to Republican criticism. The 54-year-old was not present in the courtroom.

He’s arguing the only reason he’s being held accountable is political…

Which is the same thing trump says.

It highlights a bigger issue that definitely is political:

The only time wealthy connected people are held accountable is for pissing off other wealthy connected people.

We need a system where bare minimum the exception is no accountability due to political connections instead of the current system where 99.9% percent of the wealthy can do this shit and no one cares.

It’s one of the things progressives push for while republicans and “moderates” stop anything from being done.

Only if you are gullible enough to fall for the people muddying the waters. Is Hunter Biden being held to the same standard for his crime that other who did the same are vs is Trump.

Don’t let them think comparing apples to oranges is apples to apples.

The people certainly care, at least the ones that want justice and an even playing field, but there’s nothing we can do about it because they’re playing by a different set of rules, and that’s what’s total bullshit. If I don’t pay my taxes, I’ll get my ass handed to me, but if anyone connected doesn’t, they wring their hands until it goes away.

I pay my taxes because it’s the right thing to do (even though I vehemently disagree on what these knuckleheads spend it on), and I don’t really have a choice anyway, so I’d rather stay out of trouble. The GOP is hanging on to this issue because it’s the only real tangible thing they have to show any wrongdoing connected to Biden, and they’re making a political spectacle where it doesn’t exist. But it does highlight the issue of how wealthy people operate under a different paradigm than the rest of us. It’s just rich coming from the party that grifts and cons like it’s going out of style, while attempting to shield themselves by saying it’s somehow different (it’s not).

          The people certainly care,

But as long as we “vote blue no matter who” it’ll never change.

And now that the DNC is canceling primaries and have been saying it doesn’t matter because they can appoint whoever they want…

It’s not enough to just vote in the primaries and hold our noses in the general.

We can’t fix anything when both teams are ignoring what voters want.

We really need to reform the voting system to allow for more choices of parties, but I ain’t holding my breath any time soon

You don’t have to be a politician to be involved in politics. Think of all the staff, party officials, etc.
