    How ok would it actually be for other countries to agree to remove one somehow… there’d be few on the same list if Israel would become a precedent

      Never happened like that. Normally a country simply stops existing because of some change in government or unification/splitting of a country.

      But countries do rescind their recognition of others from time to time. Israel is also an example of this, where it has spent significant money getting neighbours to officially recognise it over Palestine.
