Hi! I came here looking for an alternative to Reddit which is less of a liberal echo chamber. It looks good, even more responsive. But I wonder, how is the moderation here? Biggest problem I have with Reddit is that it is becoming increasingly impossible to have discussions about “sensitive topics”. Even if you are being civil, there is a chance you will just straight out get banned for saying something which liberals do not like. How does Lemmy compare? Thanks.

Different lemmy servers have different rules. If you find you do not like the rules of one server you can simply delete your account and make a new account on another server and sign back up for the same communities.

To view what other Lemmy servers are linked check out the instances page on the footer of each page. example: https://lemmy.world/instances

In theory that would go for subreddits as well. But that’s not the whole story. I got suspended from ALL of Reddit because of “hate speech”. Not just the subreddit. I think it might be because users reported the comment, but I’m not sure.

If you got suspended for Reddit because of hate speech, maybe it’s time to self-reflect about why everyone thinks your speech is hateful, rather than trying to find more and more awful and esoteric places in which to speak.
