Wind turbines kill a ton of birds. They also iced up and quit working in the winter when we had power outages.

There are wind turbines in Antarctica. The power outages were mostly a result of gas systems icing up. The underlying problem is that Texas hasn’t been willing to require weatherization of the power system, not some sort of issue with wind.
