Merry Tennobaum everyone!
A little more than a week ago, Lemmy 0.19 was released; you can read more here.
As of now, outgoing federation is broken with this version of Lemmy, even after an attempted fix in version 0.19.1. View the related GitHub issue here.
Because of this, dormi.zone will remain on its current Lemmy version (0.18.5) for now. I’ll keep you posted on any further plans.
Important: Lemmy 0.19 introduces a new implementation of 2FA. Once dormi.zone upgrades to a newer Lemmy version, 2FA will be disabled on everyone’s accounts. This is intended to give back access to any account you might have lost due to 2FA issues.
I just got a notification from Voyager. Do we have any plan on updating the Lemmy version, or are there still issues with the newer versions?
It will be updated this weekend; an announcement for that will be posted on Mastodon shortly.
Good to hear that, thank you!
WiIll there be an update to one of the the newer releases or are we waiting for…something? We are on 18.05 with the most recent upgrade being 19.03. I’m not following the bug reports, just kurious?
I’m sorry for the lack of communication.
I’ve been waiting to see how the update will fare on larger instances like lemmy.world (which as of now is still on 0.18.5).
The releases 0.19.0 through 0.19.2 have all had issues, which is why I’m currently being very careful with the latest release. I’d rather wait too long than not long enough, since having to downgrade Lemmy by restoring a backup would be the worst outcome.
I can promise you that dormi.zone will be updated to 0.19.3 this month. Either tomorrow or the next weekend.
oh, does this mean i can get my first dormizone account I lost from enabling 2fa?
That’s correct!
