I completely disagree with the sentiment here. My 40s have been great because they marked the point in my life when I finally lost my last fuck to give.
The freedom that provides is worth not being able to drink the way I used to in my 30s. Enjoy that achievement.

I’ve been 40 for a 1/4 of one trip around the sun and it’s not so bad. Just do a little high kick, punch the air and yell “I’m 40!!!” It helps!
If it helps, everyone else around our age is also creeping up on 40.
I don’t think we spontaneously turn into our parents or adopt the thinking of their generation.
Yeah. It feels like an occasion to mark, not celebrate.
