Meta just announced that they are trying to integrate Threads with ActivityPub (Mastodon, Lemmy, etc.). We need to defederate them if we want to avoid them pushing their crap into fediverse.

If you’re a server admin, please defederate Meta’s domain “threads.net

If you don’t run your own server, please ask your server admin to defederate “threads.net”.

    What a lame take.

Go to their server if you want to or one that don’t defederate, or spin one up yourself, the choice is still yours.

I don’t want meta to benefit from my server, hosting their biased crap, how about that for a user choice.

The difference here, is that the person you responded to isn’t telling you what to do.

Sure is, he’s saying I should Not defederate my server, and I do not say he should do anything at all. Are you just trolling?

If he likes meta so much, just go there, you can still have your Lemmy account.

Or go to a server not defederating.

        How hard can it be.

They asked you why you hate user choice. They didn’t once tell you way to do. Yet, your again- tell him what he should do in your response.

You directly told me to spin up my own server if I don’t like it lol, I didn’t tell anyone to do anything. Sharing an opinion isn’t the same thing as telling people what to do.
