I heard that it can be blocked using ublock origin and then I can scroll infinitely without needing to login ? Can someone confirm and share the steps.

Edit: People trying to find a solution. Unfortunately it can’t be done. You have to login using an email.

      I doubt it - This covers your screen if you try to view someone else’s instagram post when not logged into an account. I expect OP just wants to see the post without giving meta their data.

          Don’t know why your being downvoted, it’s really easy to create a fake account with a proton mail or any throwaway email and just use that. Fucking do it while on VPN too if your really worried about data but I doubt OP is already on one.

            You have a lot to learn my man. Its not the email address I am concerned about. Its the IP, device identifiers and location. Meta doesnt care about the email at all apart from sending you emails for notification. Even with a fake email they exactly know who you are. Let’s say you visit CNN.com which has facebook tracker. Facebook has the IP and the device identifiers. Now you login with fake email account on Instagram, facebook knows that’s the IP ans the same device hence it “must” be the same person That’s how facebook creates shadow profiles.

              Yeah then use a VPN for your endpoint connection, route your traffic through a self hosted proxy server and use that to mask hardware details. Then create a dummy account, boom.

              Btw they get your IP, Device details and location just from you even opening the instagram link on your phone whether you sign in or not.

              I mean if you care that much about privacy just don’t even connect to any of Facebook’s DNS servers in the first place, or if you’re that thirsty set it up properly or stop caring.

        Asking how to view content from corporate social media without giving it more information than an IP address and user agent string does seem on-brand for /c/privacy to me.

    Little bit sus.

    Go to the ublock origin extension in firefox and click open dashboard. Then unter filter lists make sure to select everything under annoyances. I haven’t tested it but it should work

    Edit: Also click the confirm and update icons at the top

        Does work for me. But it works better on the phone somehow.

        Edit: Also works for me after disabling the filters again. Don’t ask me why. It usually doesn’t work for me, but guess today is my lucky day.

        I just tried it because I was curious, and it doesn’t work for me either. Once I scroll down even a little bit, the popup appears with all annoyances checked and updated in uBO.

                I’m not sure why I’m so invested in this because I never even visit Instagram lol

                I’ve triple-checked now that all my annoyance lists are updated, and I still get the popover unless I enable the custom filter I just created. Weird.

                Also, I noticed you said you’re using a VPN. I had to disable my VPN, or the page wouldn’t load at all.

                  Same haha, I barely use it as well.

                  I have no issue, no matter which VPN sever I use. But I normally have these blocks as well yeah.

                The date is today’s date because that’s the date I created the filter. I think you can put whatever text you want in that line to help you remember what the filter is for.

    There was a project that did this but has since been abandoned by its developers.

    It’s one of those privacy respecting front ends like piped or invidious for YouTube, libre Reddit reader or whatever, or Nitter for Twitter for example.

    sometimes it’s possible to view Instagram’s profiles from picuki.com without logged in (but beware, it’s full of trackers)

    Edit: since bibliogram.art is dead I’ve tried imginn.org and gramhir.com with varying degrees of success in the past, today neither seems to work.

      I’ve been using iganony.io and it does the job for me. For some reason it always shows a couple old posts before the latest posts. Picuki.com stopped working for me at some point and I assume it was a Firefox extension that was causing issues. I was too lazy to do any troubleshooting to fix it.

      I only ever use it to see my tattoo artist’s work and grab the progress videos of my sleeve she is currently working on. My experience with Instagram and viewers are super limited so I can’t really say if iganony.io is good or not.
