NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban cleared officers Andrey Samusev and Daniel Alvarez of misconduct charges sought by the Civilian Complaint Review Board for improper use of force at a 2020 George Floyd protest.
“Based on the video evidence, I determined it was reasonable for Police Officer Alvarez to leave the location for his safety. What was not reasonable, were the actions of the protestors, who created this extremely hazardous encounter,” Caban wrote in the memo, which was obtained from the CCRB via public disclosure law.
So if cops create a “extremely hazardous encounter,” it’s okay for civilians to run them over with cars then right?

If the law works against you, you should also work against the law.
What I’m hearing is that if I’m being detained in a manner I don’t feel safe in, I am allowed to use deadly force.
I expect the same treatment as these cops get at my next unsafe traffic stop.
What do you think? You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?”
