If you happen to be one of those things then accepting that and living true to yourself is going to make you more happy than denying yourself and living a lie. Sounds like you’re agreeing with me that “other ways to be happy” is not an accurate description of what being gay or trans is.
If the phrase requires a paragraph of explanation to justify it, then maybe we should just use a different phrase.
