I knew about Scott Adam’s, but recently I was catching up on the back archive for Sinfest. Around 2019 mark, I had to stop. How did someone whose comic got popular for praising Obama turn into a Qanon antivac comic?
I don’t disagree with Robert’s assessment that the whole “several years of complete isolation” probably broke something in his brain. Imagine being unable to speak to the degree that you refuse to go out in public, interact as little as possible, and just flat out stop existing to most of the outside world, for years.
He had a medical condition that left him more or less unable to speak that was only corrected through a risky surgical procedure that could have left him permanently mute.
Being unable to communicate with other humans in person is a different level of isolation, and I definitely believe it likely contributed to him breaking entirely.
That said, the rest of the BtB series mentioned in this thread also made it pretty clear that he sucked for a long, long time before that. It just went all gas no brakes at that point.

There is a two part podcast about him on the “Behind the Bastards” that goes into some depth about what an idiot this guy is.

So just a regular existence of someone who isn’t a public figure, celebrity or some sort of public personality?

I know what you mean. Sinfest used to be a big favorite of mine. So disappointed to see what it became.
Sinfest isn’t just bigoted now, it’s confusing as fuck.
