I used the CeraVe one for quite a while because I thought it was the best, and then I tried the Cetaphil one because it was on sale and: I like it way more! I think the high petrolatum content is what is so great for my skin!

What are your preferences between these community faves? Or do you have another preference altogether?

I haven’t tried the Cetaphil moisturizing cream but I have tried the “Cetaphil Facial Moisturizer Dry Skin” and I really liked it. Its very similar to the Cetaphil moisturizing cream from what I can tell.

The CeraVe moisturizing cream is nice but when my skin is sensitive it can actually burn a bit when applying, which Cetaphil Facial Moisturizer Dry Skin never did. Unfortunately though it made my skin feel a bit greasy so that’s why I didn’t stick with it. Perhaps I will give it another go in the winter when my skin is super dry!

Currently I’m trying the Geek & Gorgeous Happier Barrier moisturizer and I reeeally like it! Actually I’m trying multiple products from Geek & Gorgeous right now and I’m becoming a bit of a fan-girl!

CeraVe for me. Cetaphil leaves a layer which I only like in the winter when I have no place to go and need a deep moisturizer.

I know what you mean, but tbh I quite like it, it’s like slugging light… but my skin is super dry currently too, so if it was oilier again I also think it’d be too much

Oh yeah my skin is oily. Everyone’s skin type will probably influence their opinion in this thread. It definitely depends on your type, imo.

I am 100% with you! CeraVe is definitely not a bad option, but once I was able to find Cetaphil in my area I started using it and haven’t looked back.

I like Vanicream also. It’s similar to the Cerave and the Cetaphil. It doesn’t have HA so I can use it year round (HA dries out my skin unless I use it in humid weather; dries it out no matter even if applying to soaking wet skin and topping with an occlusive but works in humidity). It also has a short,.simple ingredients list and is usually much cheaper than the others.
