Just because tech is used to scam idiots doesn’t mean tech is bad.

i mean, sure, not intrinsically, but i have yet to see this technology used to do much of anything else. compared to the massive downsides it poses for things like energy use and the problems associated with the financialization of everything, the lack of material benefits seems like a pretty good reason to steer clear of the whole business.

if your claims were true and not pure unfounded speculation, then one would expect some meaningful evidence to that effect to have emerged in the past 15+ years with the trillions that have been dumped into the sector.

“a thing of the past” is an awfully generous way of saying “better but still pretty bad.” not to mention all of the other problems it has, what with its vulnerability to a variety of different types of attacks, not just man-in-the-middle attacks, and the fact that it’s still far too slow and unwieldy to be used for anything other than speculating on more crypto. it’s like how elon musk keeps “trying” to solve traffic by putting teslas in tunnels, when we’ve known how to build subways for literal centuries, but i’m not gonna go on my fuckcars rant here.

it’s never anything but grandiose claims and “wait and see” from you lot. if what you’ve shown in this thread is the best you’ve got, then it’s probably just time to abandon the whole thing.
