I just got WSL working (so I can make pebble watchfaces) any other cool stuff I could do with this not quite real Linux?

You can do a lot of things.

Depending on your use case and curiosity you will eventually hit the boundaries of the sandbox, because as you said it is not quite Linux.

You could play nethack, I guess? Don’t wait until the new moon, or you’ll get a luck penalty!

Pretty much anything that is real Linux including running applications with a GUI. The limitation is that everything is behind an abstraction layer so no direct access to hardware. The great thing is that you can try out different distros and go nuts trying things out and if you break one instance you can just reset it. Have fun.
