Good news about Rueda.
The wording of the press release is unclear but seems to be saying Rueda ALSO had a cardiac arrest in the accident.
The Sepang marshalls and medics really did an outstanding job treating Rueda and Dettwiler- this could have been a double fatality if they’d been slack.
I wonder if Marco Simoncelli’s death in 2011 contributed to this efficient treatment. Maybe that accident made the Sepang track managers improve their training and reaction time, because their treatment of Sic was heavily criticised.
I won’t repeat details about Sic because we know what we saw that day.

I’m sure it did. Partly at this circuit, but certainly across the sport and across motorsport in general.
Like you pointed out, this accident shows the capabilities of the marshals, medics, evac, local hospitals, etc. I suspect all of those things have improved since 2011.
I’d like to think those standards are high at every race, but it’s hard to tell from the outside until something like this happens.
Anyway, it’s great to hear this news. I haven’t found much about Noah, but it seems like his life is out of danger at least.
It’s nice to think that 2011 made the treatment of accidents more carefully managed, I can’t imagine they wouldn’t look carefully at what went on that day and make improvements.
One impressive thing about this current accident was that there was that big international conference with world leaders nearby, so the Sepang officials had obviously planned the helicopters to avoid having to take ambulances by road. I’ve never seen helicopters landing on the track like that, it’s usually ambulances. Happy to be corrected!
People on Reddit are saying not all tracks are the same as regards marshalls, medics, safety etc. but I don’t know enough about all the tracks to comment.
That link I posted 5 days ago here was the last I heard about Noah, but it was positive and I’m sure we’d have heard any big developments 😊 EDIT: I added new information I found out about him to that other post. He is going home to Switzerland as he’s improved so much!
And that picture on that link of Jose Antonio smiling with the doctor is so cute. Apparently he celebrated his 20th birthday in hospital, bless him.
