We get very little lore about the horsemen overall. We know they each have a ring that seems to grant their power, though death seems more capable without his ring than the others. They aren’t demons, as Famine tells Sam his powers won’t affect him at all.

Some seem to be related (perhaps all except Death) as Pestilence refers to War and Famine as his brothers. They also don’t seem to be angels of any flavor just based on their weaknesses and strengths.

As far as we know none of them ever died, we know they are weakened and disappear when their rings are cut off but Demon Brady basically confirms War and Famine are around, though weakened and useless.

Are War, Famine, and Pestilence related to Death? We know Death is a primordial force, existing as long as God, perhaps longer, were the other horsemen there? They seem more… human motivated or downright evil. Death is the only one Lucifer coerced, the rest seem to be working willingly with the devil.

What do we think they are?

They are Nephalim just like they are in the bible. Death is the only one with extremely weird characteristics that dont exactly fit. But they just took some creative liberties to make him seem more mysterious and foreboding. I think he is the only one thats not a Nephalim.

Woah the Bible gets weird, never knew about the nephilim before this. It reads like less fleshed out Tolkien. Do you have any stranger Bible beings to share?

Unfortunately I dont. As you can see I even spelled it wrong lol. My brother is the one with stacks of religious texts that he pours over for the lore and I’ve just picked some up from him.

      Huh.

I just figured that they were similar to DC’s The Endless and were aspects of the universe:

      War is War

      Death is Death

      Pestilence is Pestilence

      And Famine is Famine
